When I was young                               어렸을 적에
I'd listen to the radio                            내가 제일 좋아하는 노래가
Waiting for my favorite songs                나오기를 기다리면서 라디오를 듣곤 했었어
When they played                                그 노래가 나오면
I'd sing along                                      난 따라 불렀고
It made me smile                                  미소를 지었었지

Those were such happy times              그땐 참 행복한 시절이었고
And not so long ago                             그렇게 오래 전 일도 아닌데

How I wondered                                   그 행복한 시절이 어디로
where they'd gone                               사라져 버렸는지 궁금해
But they're back again                         하지만 마치 오랫동안

Just like a long lost friend                     연락없이 지냈던 친구처럼
All the songs                                       기억들이 다시
I loved so well                                     난 그 노래들을 너무도 좋아했어

Every Sha-la-la-la                              그 노래중 샬랄라∼∼
Every Wo-o-wo-o                                워우워∼∼ 하는 부분은
Still shines                                          아직도 아름다워
Every shing-a-ling-a-ling                    싱어링∼∼이라고
That they're starting to sing's               노래 시작할 때 부르는 부분도
So fine.                                               좋아

 

When they get to the part                     노래 가사에서 남자가 여자를
Where he's breaking her heart             가슴 아프게 하는 부분에 이르면
It can really make me cry                   마치 예전으로 돌아간 듯 난 눈물이 날 것만 같아
Just like before                                  다시한번 그때로
It's yesterday once more                   돌아갈 수 있으면 좋을텐데

 

Looking back on                                 세월이 지나
how it was                                         과거엔 어땠는지
In years gone by                                뒤돌아 보니
And the good times that I had               오늘날은 내가 누렸던 그 행복한
Makes today seem rather sad              시절들에 비해 좀 처량해
So much has changed                        너무 많은 것들이 변해버렸어
It was songs of love                            그 때 따라 부르던 노래들은
that I would sing to then                      사랑 노래였는데

And I'd memorize each word                난 가사를 전부 기억하고 있어
Those old melodies                             세월을 녹아 내리듯 흘러가는     
Still sound so good to me                     그 오래된 멜로디를
As they melt the years away                  아직도 난 좋아해

Every Sha-la-la-la                                그 노래중 샬랄라∼∼
Every Wo-o-wo-o                                 워우워∼∼ 하는 부분은
Still shines                                           아직도 아름다워
Every shing-a-ling-a-ling                     싱어링∼∼이라고

So fine                                                 좋아

All my best memories                            내 모든 기억들이 다시
Come back clearly to me                       뚜렷이 돌아와 예전처럼
Some can even make me cry                 날 울 것만 같게 하고 있어
Just like before                                     그 옛 시절로 다시 한번
It's yesterday once more                       돌아갈 수만 있다면
